The 19th edition of India's premier film market, Waves Film Bazaar, is set to take place from November 20-24, 2025 in Goa, running alongside the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Organized by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), this year's Waves Film Bazaar has unveiled a diverse lineup of independent films across various categories.
The Co-Production Market features 22 narrative projects and 5 documentaries spanning 19 languages and 8 countries. Notable names include filmmaker Kiran Rao, who returns with her production 'Shadow Hill: Of Spirits and Men,' and Vikramaditya Motwane, who is attached as a producer on 'Teacher's Pet.' Other highlights include Shakun Batra's 'Kanda (No Onions)' and Oscar-nominated director Shaunak Sen's 'Tyres Will Be Deflated.'
The NFDC Handpicked Focused Projects section spotlights bold cross-border collaborations, such as 'Shamed,' 'Smash,' and 'Tiger in the Lion Den (Freedom Friends).' Additionally, a partnership with Singapore's Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF) introduces the Philippines-Singapore co-production 'Gloria.'
The Work-in-Progress Lab will showcase five selected films, including the India-Australia co-production 'Chevittorma' and 'Khoriya,' backed by filmmaker Ashim Ahluwalia. The Viewing Room 2025 will feature 230 films across 33 languages, with 85 world premieres.
