The 16th edition of the Water Festival illuminated Adalaj Ni Vav, turning the ancient stepwell into a lively hub of music and culture. The event featured a distinguished lineup of artists, captivating attendees with a diverse range of musical styles.
Led by tabla maestro Ustad Fazal Qureshi, the concert commenced with a classical segment featuring Ambi Subramaniam on violin and Giridhar Udupa on ghatam. This was followed by a soul-stirring presentation of Kabir Vani by Mir Mukhtiyar Ali, accompanied by Qureshi and other musicians on traditional instruments.
The evening progressed into contemporary fusion, with Stephen Devassy on keyboards, Arun Kumar on drums, and Prithvi Samuel on bass delivering dynamic arrangements. A grand finale saw all artists unite to honor Ustad Zakir Hussain with a rendition of his famous composition, 'Making Music,' drawing thunderous applause.
