12 Mar
Summary
- Prince William expressed surprise at Warwick Davis not having an OBE.
- Davis received the OBE for services to drama and charity.
- He founded Little People UK with his late wife Samantha.

Actor Warwick Davis, aged 56, was awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his dedicated service to drama and charity. During the ceremony at Kensington Palace, Prince William expressed his astonishment that Davis had not previously received such an honour.
Davis, accompanied by his children Annabelle and Harrison, shared that Prince William remarked on his surprise, to which Davis humorously worried that admitting he didn't have one might jeopardize receiving the current honour. The actor's path to acting began at age 11 after his grandmother saw a casting call for short people for a Star Wars film.
In 2012, Davis and his late wife Samantha established Little People UK, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals with dwarfism. Samantha passed away in 2024 following complications from surgery. Davis also acknowledged a "mystery woman" referred to as 'Sponge' for helping him find meaning and happiness again after his wife's death.
