- The company prioritizes intellectual property and human creators.

Games Workshop has announced a firm policy against the use of generative AI in its creative processes, particularly for the design of its Warhammer miniatures. The company is adopting a "very cautious" approach, explicitly prohibiting AI-generated content and its use in design, as well as any unauthorized external applications. This decision reflects a commitment to safeguarding intellectual property and valuing the contributions of human artists and sculptors.
Chief Executive Kevin Rountree stated that while some senior management are exploring AI, the internal policy prioritizes a protective stance. This ban aligns with the lore of Warhammer 40,000, where artificial intelligence is considered heresy. The company is also mindful of data compliance, security, and governance issues related to AI.
In the six months leading up to November 2025, Games Workshop reported strong revenue growth despite challenges like reduced licensing profit and new US tariffs. The company reaffirmed its investment in the Warhammer Studio, highlighting the hiring of numerous creatives across various disciplines to enrich the Warhammer IP for its dedicated fanbase.
