A new six-part drama series, The Walsh Sisters, inspired by the beloved novels of Irish author Marian Keyes, is coming soon to BBC iPlayer and BBC One. The series centers on the chaotic, dysfunctional, but ultimately loveable Walsh family, comprising five sisters, their devout mother, and a bemused father.
Starring a cast including Caroline Menton, Louisa Harland, Danielle Galligan, Mairead Tyers, and Stefanie Preissner as the sisters, the drama is adapted for television by Preissner herself. Aidan Quinn and Carrie Crowley portray Daddy and Mammy Walsh. The series is set in their Dublin hometown.
Set in Dublin, The Walsh Sisters follows the journeys of Anna, Rachel, Maggie, Claire, and Helen as they navigate their twenties and thirties. Their strong bond, filled with shared history and love for power ballads, helps them through heartbreak, grief, addiction, and parenthood. Marian Keyes also serves as an executive producer for the series.
