Country Star Walker Hayes: Kids Saw It All

Country music artist Walker Hayes has shared that his six children experienced every stage of his life, from his struggles with alcoholism and past employment at Costco to the loss of a child and his subsequent rise to fame with "Fancy Like." His wife, Laney, provided significant support, writing him daily notes and packing lunches throughout his tenure at Costco, a period he initially found embarrassing.

Hayes recently released the album "Sober Thoughts" in 2026, which delves into his two-decade battle with alcohol abuse that concluded with sobriety in 2016. He aims for the album to inspire others grappling with substance abuse, emphasizing that recovery is possible. In a notable collaboration, Hayes partnered with Athletic Brewing Company to launch a nonalcoholic pale ale named after his hit song.

Through his experiences, Hayes hopes his children have learned not to fear failure and have witnessed the importance of family and faith. He noted that his children are frequently present backstage and sometimes join him on stage, giving them a unique perspective on life and priorities.
