Walk My World, a groundbreaking theatrical production in Budapest, offers an immersive adventure that redefines traditional shows. This experience unfolds within a vast, 6,000-square-meter industrial space, transformed into a dystopian world reminiscent of "Brazil" and "Mad Max."
Loosely inspired by Virgil's Aeneid, the narrative centers on the tragic love story of Aeneas and Dido, reimagined in a mechanized future. Attendees are given masks and must surrender their phones, entering a cinematic environment featuring elements of Troy, Carthage, and a mysterious labyrinth.
The show’s core genius lies in its free-roaming nature. There is no set route; visitors decide where to go, whom to follow, and what secrets to uncover, creating a personalized and dynamic experience.
Performers, including aerialists, dancers, and acrobats, engage audiences through intimate moments and grand spectacles. Unique elements include a robotic arm reimagining the Trojan Horse and an aerial sequence over water. The climax features a modern interpretation of The Russian Swing, launching performers into spectacular aerial feats.
Created by choreographer Bence Vági and his company Recirquel, Walk My World combines contemporary dance, physical theatre, and high-level circus techniques. Vági, influenced by immersive performance styles, has crafted a narrative spectacle that has captivated audiences across Europe, with hopes for future productions in London.
