In Norwich, Voodoo Daddy's Showroom operates as a distinctive 150-capacity live music venue located in a basement, with a vibrant bar and pizza kitchen situated upstairs. This unique establishment, previously housed in an old strip club, offers a chaotic yet welcoming atmosphere.
The venue showcases a diverse range of genres including pop, rock, cabaret, comedy, and drag, attracting both international touring acts and local bands. Its intimate setting, with a low ceiling and stage, fosters a special connection between performers and the audience.
Future plans include transforming a neighboring former hair salon into a jazz and soul venue. The venue faces significant financial challenges due to numerous operational costs, requiring constant balancing to remain viable.
Despite hardships, the passion for live music and nurturing emerging talent drives the venue. A memorable recent performance featured a Danish act with a fusion of acoustic techno, punk, and nu-jazz, captivating the audience with an intense set.
