Nineteen-year-old Nicole Valeria Vargas Gomez, who gained national recognition as a child singer on Colombia's The Voice Kids in 2019, has tragically died. She was a victim of a fatal hit-and-run collision that also claimed the life of 40-year-old William Andrew Paipa.
The incident occurred on the Circasia-Armenia road in Quindío, Colombia, where Vargas Gomez and Paipa were struck by an unidentified vehicle while crossing the road. The impact propelled both victims, and the driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene without stopping to render aid.

Vargas Gomez, who was also studying Business Administration at the University of Quindío, was remembered by the institution for her commitment to her academic and cultural life.
Her passing comes shortly after other tragic news from the music world, including the death of The Voice Nigeria contestant Ifunanya Nwangene from a snake bite.
