Suresh Oberoi's Struggle for Son Vivek's Debut

Veteran actor Suresh Oberoi recently shared details about his efforts to launch his son Vivek Oberoi's acting career. Suresh recalled personally carrying Vivek's photographs to different production offices, mirroring his own early career struggles. He mentioned that director Ram Gopal Varma, with whom Suresh was working, discovered Vivek's talent through an old acting institute tape. Varma was impressed and cast Vivek in the 2002 film 'Company'.

Vivek Oberoi, however, has previously presented a different narrative. He stated that he actively chose to go by 'Vivek Anand' to avoid using his family name and prove himself independently. He recounted facing numerous rejections and struggling for nearly two years before landing the role in 'Company'. Vivek also revealed that Varma initially found him too polished for the role, prompting Vivek to adopt a more rugged look and change his appearance to convince the director.

Among Vivek Oberoi's filmography, Suresh Oberoi considers 'Saathiya' to be his personal favorite. He was deeply moved by Vivek's performance in 'Company', even shedding tears of pride. Vivek is set to appear next in Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana'.
