Viveck Vaswani, who last worked with Salman Khan on the 1991 film 'Patthar Ke Phool,' has explained his decision not to collaborate with the superstar since. Vaswani cited his inability to work in settings involving liquor and indiscipline as the primary reason. He clarified that he would reconsider working with Salman if he encountered the actor in his most disciplined professional state, similar to his collaborations with Sooraj Barjatya.

Vaswani noted that Salman Khan's working style is heavily influenced by the filmmaker. He identified directors like Aditya Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Sooraj Barjatya as individuals who command Salman's respect and ensure a professional environment. According to Vaswani, these filmmakers ensure that Salman is seen as an actor, not merely a star, and prevent undue interference.

He distinguished between creative input, which he finds acceptable, and outright indiscipline, which he cannot tolerate. Vaswani recalled the making of 'Patthar Ke Phool,' where Salman's father, Salim Khan, was involved and respected the writer's authority.
