Cinematography legend Vittorio Storaro is set to receive a special tribute at the upcoming David di Donatello Awards. This accolade celebrates his distinguished career, marked by three Academy Awards for his work on 'Apocalypse Now,' 'Reds,' and 'The Last Emperor.'
Storaro, renowned for his innovative use of light, is considered one of cinema's greatest visual artists. Italy's undersecretary for culture, Lucia Borgonzoni, stated the award recognizes a maestro who transforms technique into visual poetry. The event also commemorates the 50th anniversary of Bernardo Bertolucci's significant 1976 film, 'Novecento,' which Storaro also photographed.
