Students at the Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) in Hereford have discovered the joy of dance through a specialized ballroom program. This initiative, the first of its kind in the UK dedicated to blind students, offers them the chance to learn popular dances such as the quickstep and jive. The program has seen growing interest, particularly following the success of alumnus Chris McCausland. McCausland, who was born with retinitis pigmentosa, won the 22nd series of the popular competition Strictly Come Dancing in 2024. His achievement has visibly boosted participation and enthusiasm among students eager to experience ballroom dancing.
