12 Mar
Summary
- Marco Grazzini and Lauren Hammersley are leaving Virgin River.
- Neither actor is confirmed for Season 8 after the current season.
- The showrunner plans to keep the series fresh with new storylines.

Virgin River is set to see significant cast changes as Marco Grazzini and Lauren Hammersley depart the popular Netflix drama. Grazzini, who has portrayed Detective Mike Valenzuela for multiple seasons, and Hammersley, known for her role as Charmaine, will not be returning as series regulars for the anticipated Season 8.
Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith confirmed these exits, noting that while the actors are not contracted for the upcoming season, future returns are not entirely out of the question. These departures follow previous cast changes, including Grayson Gurnsey and Mark Ghanimé.
Smith emphasized that the show's creative team is focused on ensuring the longevity of Virgin River by developing compelling storylines for the existing cast. He suggested that while no immediate shakeups are planned, some character departures might occur as storylines naturally conclude.
The majority of the current Season 7 series regulars are expected to return for Season 8. This includes Ben Hollingsworth, whose character Brady faces a dramatic situation in the Season 7 finale. Other recurring cast members from Season 7, such as Sara Canning and Cody Kearsley, are also departing or have uncertain return statuses.
