Mark Hoppus, known for his work with blink-182, has hinted at a significant development for the Australian rock band Violent Soho: a reunion. Hoppus made the announcement during his spoken-word tour, "Fahrenheit-182," from the iconic Sydney Opera House on Saturday, March 22, 2026. This news emerged as Hoppus brought Violent Soho frontman Luke Boerdam and guitarist James Tidswell to the stage for an acoustic rendition of blink-182's "Dammit."
The timing of this potential reunion is noteworthy, as it falls within the tenth anniversary month of Violent Soho's acclaimed fourth album, "WACO." Released in March 2016, "WACO" debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart and featured prominently in triple j's Hottest 100 countdown. The band has also announced a limited edition vinyl reissue of the album.
Hoppus's connection to Violent Soho is well-established, with his public support for the band dating back to 2014. He expressed admiration for their single "Covered in Chrome" and later met the band members at the Good Things Festival in 2019. This appearance marks the first time Boerdam and Tidswell have performed together since Violent Soho's final concert on September 10, 2022, in Brisbane.
