Viola Davis Returns to TV in High-Stakes Thriller

Viola Davis is returning to television with a starring role in the new Paramount+ original series, "Ascent." The upcoming show is described as a character-based thriller that delves into the perilous world of corporate crisis management.

John Logan, known for "Penny Dreadful," is the creator and showrunner of "Ascent." Davis will play Catriona Vail, a highly skilled corporate fixer. Her character must utilize her ruthless expertise to protect her estranged daughter when she falls into danger.

Davis will also serve as an executive producer through her company, JuVee Productions, alongside her husband Julius Tennon. John Logan and Michael Aguilar are also executive producers. "Ascent" is scheduled to begin production in Los Angeles in 2027, with Davis expressing excitement about the unique story and character.
