Vijay was in Thanjavur to meet with functionaries of his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, from eight Assembly constituencies. The event was slated to occur on a 10-acre ground near Sengipatti, with nearly 4,900 party workers expected to attend.
Authorities had granted permission for the meeting but stipulated 52 conditions. These included mandatory QR code entry passes for authorized participants, with attendance strictly limited between 11 am and 3 pm.
