Vijay Varma, acclaimed for intense portrayals in projects like Dahaad and Mirzapur, recently explored a different facet in Gustaakh Ishq. The actor transitioned from brooding, morally ambiguous characters to a role emphasizing wide-eyed romance, revealing a rarely seen vulnerable side.

Reflecting on this shift, Varma shared the difficulty in shedding the emotional weight of his former roles. He explained, "For Gustaakh Ishq, I had to unlearn the toughness I had gathered from playing some extremely difficult men on screen. I had to remind myself of the innocence and wide-eyed-ness I once had when I started out as a college kid."

Although Gustaakh Ishq did not achieve commercial success, it provided Varma with a platform to demonstrate his acting range. When questioned about his romantic inclinations, he affirmed his romantic nature, noting its visibility online. Varma also touched upon the inherent conflict between ambition and matters of the heart, stating, "Sometimes ambition can come in the way of love."
