TVK Worker Slams Vijay Over Marital Dispute Remarks
8 Mar
Summary
- TVK worker criticizes Vijay's remarks on marital dispute.
- Criticism questions Vijay's pro-women stance consistency.
- Wife's divorce plea cites emotional pain and neglect.

A Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) worker has publicly criticized party leader Vijay for comments made during a Women's Day event, which appeared to address reports of his wife filing for divorce. Ranjana Nachiyar questioned the appropriateness of Vijay's remarks, suggesting they undermined his pro-women political platform.
Nachiyar specifically challenged Vijay's statement that the personal matter was "not worth it," inquiring if he was referring to his wife or marriage. She pointed out a perceived inconsistency between his public promises of women's welfare and his private remarks, particularly given reports that his wife sought court permission to enter their matrimonial home.
Sources indicate that Vijay's wife, Sangeetha, filed a confidential divorce petition citing years of emotional pain, humiliation, and neglect. The petition, filed before the Chengalpattu court, reportedly describes the marriage as being "only on paper" since their union in 1998-1999.
Sangeetha is seeking dissolution of the marriage, alimony, and the right to reside in the matrimonial home. The legal team confirmed the filing but offered no further details. Vijay and TVK leadership have not yet commented on Nachiyar's criticisms.
