- The new season promises more intense action and higher stakes.
- Vigil season 3 is exclusively available on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
Vigil season 3 sees DCI Amy Silva and DS Kirsten Longacre travel to the Arctic to probe the killing of a British Special Forces operative. Their investigation takes place within a Russian enclave, promising a more intense and higher-stakes scenario than previous seasons.
Creator Tom Edge hints at the season's geopolitical backdrop, stating, "We travel to the frozen north, where the world's great powers are competing to secure advantages as the ice melts." This suggests a narrative focused on avoiding international confrontation.
The series premieres on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK on Sunday, August 30, with two episodes released that day. Subsequent episodes will follow weekly, concluding the investigation within three weeks. International viewers can access the series via streaming platforms like Peacock TV (US), SBS On Demand (Australia), and Crave (Canada) shortly after its UK broadcast.
