The Vietnamese psychological thriller "Bunny!!" has achieved a significant international box office milestone, earning over $1 million across North America and Europe in its debut week. This accomplishment represents the second-highest opening week performance for any Vietnamese film in these combined territories. The film, originally titled "Tho Oi," premiered on March 26 in nine countries.
Directed by Tran Thanh, renowned for holding five of Vietnam's top 10 highest-grossing films, "Bunny!!" explores the life of a popular relationship advice host. His world begins to deteriorate following an encounter with a guest harboring a dark past. The ensemble cast features Tran Thanh alongside other notable Vietnamese actors.
3388 Films, the distributor, expressed exhilaration over the film's performance, highlighting audience demand for theatrical viewing. The company is actively working to expand "Bunny!!"s global reach, with planned releases in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Mongolia on May 22, followed by additional markets.
This success builds on previous achievements for 3388 Films, which previously distributed "Mai," another Vietnamese film that exceeded $2 million at the international box office. The production companies involved are Tran Thanh Town, Galaxy Studio, and HKFilm.
