On November 1, 2025, Karnataka marked its Rajyotsava, or state formation day, with a vibrant celebration in Bangalore. The city came alive with 'Krishna to Kaveri: Celebrating the Confluences of Karnataka,' a two-day festival held at the Bangalore International Centre in collaboration with Azim Premji University.
The event showcased the artistic diversity of Karnataka through a range of vibrant performances, including Puja Kunitha, Somana Kunitha, and soulful musical renditions by Pt Vinayak Toravi and Shilpa Mudbi Kothakota. The artists captured the cultural essence of the state, drawing parallels between its rivers, people, and traditions.
Inaugurating the festival, BL Shankar, president of Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, highlighted the importance of shared heritage and cultural pride. Beyond the performances, the event also offered spoken Kannada workshops, heritage quizzes, and art exhibitions, engaging audiences of all ages in a joyful celebration of Karnataka's identity.
