Veteran Actress Ketki Dave Reflects on Her Illustrious Career and Desire for OTT Roles

Veteran actress Ketki Dave, who has been a part of the entertainment industry for the past 3 decades, has always followed one mantra: to enjoy herself while playing a role. This approach has served her well, as she has successfully transitioned between films, TV shows, and theatre.

As of November 2025, Ketki is keen to explore the OTT space, but she feels that makers have not yet visualized her in those roles, perhaps due to her being typecast in certain comedy roles from 25 years ago. However, she is ready to take on more serious roles, such as that of a police inspector, as she simply loves to entertain her audience.

Ketki's personal life has also seen significant changes in the past year. The passing of her husband, actor Rasik Dave, in 2022 was a life-altering event for her. "When you share everything with one person and suddenly he's gone, life changes overnight," she reflects. However, life also brought her joy in the form of her grandson, who was born 5 months after Rasik's demise.

Despite the changes, Ketki remains committed to her craft, with theatre being her deepest connection. She believes that theatre keeps an actor alert and sharp, as they have to remember their lines and stay focused. Her last play, "Patni Nachave, Ene Kaun Bachave," ran for over 200 shows across the world, and she is open to taking on more TV projects, as long as they are closer to home.
