Summary
- Camryn Manheim guest-stars as Jocelyn, a no-nonsense matriarch accused of murder
- Tensions rise between two feuding families during a wedding weekend
- Manheim enjoyed playing a character who doesn't "obey any rule"

On October 1st, 2025, veteran actress Camryn Manheim guest-starred on the Fox procedural Murder in a Small Town, playing a role quite different from her previous law enforcement characters. Manheim portrayed Jocelyn, the no-nonsense matriarch of a local family with a longstanding vendetta against her son's future in-laws.
The episode saw the two feuding families colliding during a wedding weekend, with tensions coming to a head. However, the joyous occasion turned to tragedy when the father-in-law-to-be was found murdered the night before the big day, and all eyes pointed to Jocelyn as the prime suspect.
Manheim, who is known for her roles as lawyers and police officers on shows like The Practice and Law & Order, relished the opportunity to play a character who doesn't "obey any rule." She explained, "The thing I loved about Jocelyn is she doesn't obey any rule. This family is just a bunch of total idiots and [she] has no qualm talking about exactly how she feels about that."

While Manheim's time in the fictional town of Gibsons was bittersweet, as she likely won't be returning, the actress is open to the possibility of Jocelyn making a comeback "Law & Order style," should the show decide to bring her back as an adversary to her real-life friend Marcia Gay Harden's character.
