Veteran Actor Zeeshan Ayyub Slams Bollywood's Wasteful Practices

In a recent interview, veteran actor Zeeshan Ayyub has strongly criticized the wasteful practices and misplaced priorities in the Bollywood film industry. Ayyub, known for his powerful performances in films like 'Raanjhanaa' and 'Tanu Weds Manu', has never shied away from speaking his mind on industry issues.

According to Ayyub, the industry's fixation on maintaining hierarchies and showboating has come at the expense of quality filmmaking. He revealed that a significant amount of money is wasted on providing "useless perks" to people instead of being invested in the films themselves. Ayyub cited the example of production houses boasting about using every light in Mumbai or having every vanity van on their sets, calling such practices "pointless" and a distraction from the core focus of making good movies.

The actor also highlighted the major problem of formula filmmaking in Bollywood, stating that whenever the industry has followed a set formula, the films have failed to resonate with audiences. He hinted at a leading production house, likely referring to Yash Raj Films, and the contrasting outcomes of their recent releases - one featuring newcomers that turned out to be a hit, and the other being a formula-driven film with big stars that did not work.

Ayyub emphasized that the industry's obsession with appearances and hierarchies has ultimately "eaten them up from the inside." He believes that the key to success lies in shifting the focus back to making quality, engaging films that connect with the audience, rather than getting caught up in wasteful practices and distractions.
