Veteran Actor Satish Shah, Star of 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai', Dies at 74

Veteran actor and comedian Satish Shah, who was best remembered for his iconic roles in the television shows 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai' and 'Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi', passed away on October 24th, 2025 in Mumbai at the age of 74 due to kidney failure. The news of his demise left the Indian entertainment industry in mourning, with Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan among those who paid heartfelt tributes to the beloved actor.

Bachchan, who had shared screen space with Shah in films like 'Shakti' and 'Bhoothnath', wrote an emotional note on his blog, reflecting on the loss of "another of us" and the "grim" times. Salman Khan, who had known Shah since he was 15 years old, shared a personal memory, describing the actor as having "lived life kingsize" and saying he would be missed.

Satish Shah was a fixture of Indian entertainment for over four decades, known for his effortless humor and impeccable timing. Beyond his celebrated television work, he had appeared in some of Bollywood's biggest hits, including 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', and 'Main Hoon Na'. Despite the efforts of the doctors at PD Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre in Mumbai, they were unable to revive him after he was rushed there due to kidney-related complications.
