The identical twin brothers of the glam-punk duo Venus Twins, Jake and Matt Derting, have been featured in Olivia Rodrigo's new music video for the "Expectations" remix, which also stars Chappell Roan. The casting call reportedly sought 'interesting-looking people and punks.'
The twins, who moved to New York from Fort Worth, Texas, have some prior television experience, including an appearance on MrBeast's YouTube show in a challenge with 100 identical twins. They were not informed of the artist's identity until the night before filming.
The music video shoot took place in a large studio in Astoria, Queens, and involved extensive hair and makeup for the Venus Twins to achieve a punk-rock aesthetic. The brothers described the scale of the production as significantly larger than their usual music endeavors.
Following their role in the video, the Venus Twins are preparing for a Halloween performance at Market Hotel in Brooklyn, where they will perform as the emo band Modern Baseball. They also recently released music with a new project, iluvboyband, formed with another set of identical twins, and are finalizing a new Venus Twins album.
