The 19th Vasantotsav, a three-day music festival, recently concluded, offering a rich tapestry of India's diverse musical traditions. Organized by the Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Pratishthan, the event successfully blended genres including Bollywood hits, Marathi theatre music, folk melodies, and classical compositions.
The festival commenced with a nostalgic journey through popular 90s Bollywood songs by Usman Mir and Aamir Mir. This was followed by a compelling musical play, 'Natyasangeetachi Vatchal,' featuring Rahul Deshpande, Priyanka Barve, and Amey Wagh, which deeply resonated with the audience.
Day two featured a dynamic tabla and percussion concert led by Pt. Vijay Ghate and Selva Ganesh, alongside a vibrant folk presentation titled 'The Folk Aakhyan.' The audience actively engaged with the folk music and storytelling, responding with enthusiastic dancing.
