On September 29, 2025, a video surfaced on social media showing actor Varun Dhawan handling a complaint about his driver's rash driving with remarkable composure. In the video, a man is seen accusing Varun's driver of driving over him and hurling abuses, to which Varun responds with a calm and reassuring "Thik hai, thik hai," before leaving the scene.
This incident comes as Varun, along with co-star Janhvi Kapoor, is gearing up for the release of their upcoming romantic comedy, 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,' on October 2, 2025. The film, directed by Shashank Khaitan, will face stiff competition at the box office as it clashes with Rishab Shetty's highly acclaimed 'Kantara: Chapter 1.'
Addressing the clash, Varun expressed his respect for the 'Kantara' franchise, stating, "Obviously, 'Kantara' is a very big film. The first one was amazing. I loved it myself. But our film is very different. I think there's more than enough space for all kinds of films."
'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari' follows the story of Sunny (Varun Dhawan) and Tulsi (Janhvi Kapoor) as they attempt to win back their former partners, played by Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf. To make their exes jealous, Sunny and Tulsi pretend to be a couple, leading to a playful and entertaining journey. The film also features Maniesh Paul and Akshay Oberoi in supporting roles.
