On October 13, 2025, Variety and the Aspen Institute Latinos and Society Program will celebrate their 10th anniversary with a special event in Los Angeles. As part of the celebration, Variety will honor two renowned Hispanic and Latino figures with the Variety Changemakers Award.
The award recipients are Pepe Aguilar, a multi-Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning Mexican singer known for bridging deep tradition and global modernity, and Esai Morales, an acclaimed actor and producer with a career spanning over four decades. Morales has appeared in numerous hit films and TV shows, including "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning" and the upcoming "War Machine."
The Variety Changemakers Award recognizes Hispanic and Latino icons whose artistry and leadership are transforming the entertainment industry and redefining the cultural landscape. The celebration comes at the end of the Aspen Institute Latinos and Society Game Changers in Sports and Business Summit, which brings together top executives to explore how sports can drive innovation and economic growth.
"During Hispanic Heritage Month, Variety and the Aspen Institute spotlight Latino changemakers and storytellers -- celebrating excellence and imagining what's possible," said Domenika Lynch, executive director of the Aspen Institute Latinos and Society Program.
