The Sankatmochan Temple in Varanasi will host its 103rd Sangeet Samaroh, a six-day classical music festival, from April 6 to April 11. This grand event, located within the temple premises, is set to feature a stellar lineup of nationally and internationally acclaimed artists.
The festival's program highlights the participation of 12 Padma Awardees and 21 talented debut art practitioners, ensuring a rich cultural experience. The festivities commence on April 6 with a captivating dance drama presented by Roopvani Sanstha.
Subsequent nights will showcase a variety of classical performances. The lineup includes artists like Pt Rahul Sharma (santoor), Vidhalal (Kathak), Pt U Rajesh and Pt Shivmani (mandolin-drum), and Pt Vishwamohan Bhatt (Mohanveena). The festival concludes on April 11 with performances by Pt Ratikant Mahapatra-Sujata Mahapatra (Odissi), Ustad Shakir Khan (sitar), and Kalapini Komkali (vocal), among others.
Additionally, on April 2, Chaitra Shukla Paksha Purnima, special ceremonies including adornment, tableau, aarti, and worship of Shri Sankat Mochan Hanuman Ji Maharaj will take place.
