The teaser for SS Rajamouli's upcoming film Varanasi, featuring Mahesh Babu, recently achieved a significant milestone with its exclusive screening at the prestigious Le Grand Rex theatre in Paris. This event, held on January 5, was organized by French distribution company Anna Films.
This premiere marks a historic first for Indian cinema, as it is the inaugural instance of an Indian teaser being launched at Le Grand Rex. While the venue has previously hosted premieres for Indian films like Baahubali 2 and Saaho, this event signifies a new level of international outreach.
Positioned as a globetrotting action-adventure, Varanasi is reportedly being produced with a colossal budget of approximately Rs 1,300 crore. The film's creative team includes Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani and writer V Vijayendra Prasad, with a pan-Indian cast led by Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, aiming for a global release in 2027.
