The 'Subah-e-Banaras' cultural program, a celebrated sunrise event in Varanasi, is commemorating its 11th year. The event, held at Assi Ghat, features classical music synchronized with the iconic Kashi sunrise, alongside Vedic chanting, yoga, and devotional hymns.
This year's foundation day celebrations hold particular significance due to the Prime Minister's GI Tag award for 'Subah-e-Banaras'. Consequently, artists skilled in traditional instruments like shehnai and tabla will be specially honored. The program has grown significantly, involving thousands of artists in various performances, including classical dance and music.
The anniversary event promises a grand spectacle with seven classical dance forms, music based on 'prahar,' instrumental ensembles, and Dhrupad performances. Notably, artists from five different countries will join their Indian counterparts, including special sunrise session performances by tabla maestro Rimpa Shiva and shehnai artist Shri Jawahar Lal.
