Vanessa Guillén Story Set for Authorized Feature Film

Mighty Aphrodite Pictures has obtained an option agreement to produce an authorized narrative feature film detailing the life and legacy of U.S. Army Specialist Vanessa Guillén. This project, developed in close collaboration with the Guillén family, intends to honor Guillén's life and her family's persistent advocacy. Their efforts brought about significant legislative reform and amplified the voices of military families nationwide.

The film will recount the story of Guillén, whose 2020 disappearance and subsequent murder at Fort Hood ignited widespread calls for reform within the U.S. military. Guillén had confided in friends and family about experiencing sexual harassment from a superior at Fort Hood but feared retaliation, thus not officially reporting it. Her life was tragically cut short when she was bludgeoned to death by fellow soldier Aaron David Robinson.

Robinson fled Fort Hood upon discovery of Guillén's remains, which were found buried along the Leon River after more than two months. He died by suicide when law enforcement attempted to apprehend him. This impactful story has previously been featured in Netflix's 2020 documentary "I Am Vanessa Guillen" and an ABC 20/20 episode.
