The Cocina Chiwas culinary team, comprising James Beard semifinalists Nadia Holguin, Armando Hernandez, and Roberto Centeno, impressed attendees with their unique menu. Their offerings included tiradito de pescado with tuna, savory birria quesadillas, fresh whitefish ceviche, and a selection of three distinct skewers: chicken and mole, steak, and octopus. This marks Cocina Chiwas' second year participating in the event.
Actress Jessica Alba discovered Cocina Chiwas in 2024 while in Tempe for a campaign event. She and Eva Longoria dined at the Mexican restaurant and were so delighted by the cuisine that Alba extended a direct invitation to the team. Hernandez expressed his gratitude, emphasizing the importance of community support within their field.
