Deva Saw Singing Talent in Comedian Vadivelu

Comedian Vadivelu has shared heartwarming memories of his association with the late music composer Deva, who passed away recently. Deva, known for his iconic gaana and melody compositions in Tamil cinema, had a unique way of encouraging Vadivelu's singing talent. Vadivelu recalled Deva's insistence on him singing the song 'Vadi Pottapulla Veliya' in the film 'Kaalam Maari Pochu,' despite initial reservations from the director and assistant directors. Deva believed Vadivelu's voice was perfect for the track. Vadivelu also spoke of Deva's personal warmth, mentioning how the composer frequently included him on international trips following music concerts. This affectionate bond underscores Deva's role not just as a composer but as a mentor who valued Vadivelu's abilities. Deva died at the age of 76 after a heart attack and was honored with state funeral rites.
