Uttar Pradesh is set to be the theme state for the 39th Surajkund International Craft Mela, which will take place from January 31 to February 14 in Haryana. This prestigious fair will provide a global platform for UP to exhibit its traditional crafts, folk performances, and culinary delights.
A significant focus will be placed on UP's renowned handicraft heritage through approximately 40 stalls dedicated to the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. Visitors can expect to see iconic products such as Firozabad's glass bangles, Kannauj's perfumes, and Varanasi's exquisite zardozi and chikankari crafts.
The mela will also feature vibrant cultural programming, with daily performances of folk music and traditional dances from five to six UP artists. Weekend fashion shows will further enhance the showcase of the state's diverse textile and jewelry designs, reinforcing UP's commitment to promoting sustainable tourism.
