In the UK and Ireland box office this past weekend, Universal scored a double victory. The big-screen debut of the popular preschool property "Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie" opened in first place, earning £1.9 million ($2.5 million). This proved to be a major draw for family audiences kicking off the October half-term period.
Universal's horror sequel "The Black Phone 2" also had a strong opening, scaring up $1.5 million. Meanwhile, Studiocanal's Tourette's syndrome drama "I Swear" held well in its second weekend, earning $1.2 million and lifting its total to $3.9 million.
Looking ahead, Disney is leading the charge with the upcoming release of "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere," a Bruce Springsteen biopic starring Jeremy Allen White. Anime fans can also look forward to Sony Pictures' "Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc," one of the week's most anticipated genre releases.
