Udaipur Stage Play Pays Homage to 'Guide' Movie Classic

Last month, the city of Udaipur witnessed a theatrical celebration of a cinematic classic. A musical play titled 'Guide - Once Again' was staged at the RNT Medical College auditorium, paying homage to the beloved 1965 film 'Guide' starring Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman.

The original movie, which was filmed extensively across Udaipur 60 years ago, not only set new box office records but also elevated the city's status in the tourism sector. 'Guide - Once Again' was a stage adaptation that sought to reintroduce this cinematic masterpiece to a new generation of audiences.

Beyond the love story central to the original film's theme, the play also portrayed complex topics surrounding human emotions and psychological conflicts. Playwright Gaurikant Sharma described his production as an attempt to invite the audience to reflect on profound themes such as love, sacrifice, and self-awareness through vibrant music, songs, and eloquent dialogues.
