31 Oct
Summary
- Twilight series turns 20 this year
- Mackenzie Foy, who played Renesmee, never met the animatronic doll
- The doll, nicknamed "Chuckesme", was difficult to work with

In the lead-up to the 20th anniversary of the Twilight book series, some of the cast and filmmakers have been reflecting on their experiences with the popular vampire franchise. The latest to share a behind-the-scenes story is Mackenzie Foy, who played the role of Renesmee in the final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn Part 2, when she was just 10 years old.
Foy, now 24, has revealed an intriguing detail about the production of Breaking Dawn. Apparently, the filmmakers had initially created an animatronic version of Renesmee, which was lovingly nicknamed "Chuckesme" by the crew due to its unsettling resemblance to the infamous horror movie doll, Chucky. However, Foy herself never actually got to meet this mechanical Renesmee, as the production ultimately decided to use CGI for the character instead.
