Original Twilight Stars Ignored for New Series

The stars of the original Twilight films have confirmed they were not included in the development of the upcoming Netflix animated series. Actors Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, and Jackson Rathbone recently shared that they learned about the adaptation of "Midnight Sun" from fans and their efforts to participate were rebuffed.

This new series, which retells the Twilight saga from Edward Cullen's perspective, would have offered significant roles for characters featured more prominently in "Midnight Sun." However, the original cast members reportedly found their attempts to engage with the production team were unsuccessful, suggesting a desire by Netflix for a completely new cast and creative approach.

Despite their disappointment, the actors expressed support for the new project, with Facinelli stating he's "sure it'll be great in its own right." The original cast remains connected to the franchise, frequently attending fan conventions, even as a new generation of actors is expected to take on these iconic vampire roles.
