TV Actor's 7 Lakh Payment Default Shock

Actor Suyyash Rai has spoken out about the ongoing problem of delayed payments in the television sector. Reflecting on his personal experiences, Rai revealed that he is still owed approximately seven lakh rupees from an incident that occurred around twelve years ago.

Rai expressed his belief that the industry, while having its own ways of balancing things, eventually sees those who mistreat or exploit artists fail. He shared that while survival in the industry sometimes requires connections, he prefers to achieve success through hard work and building his own network.

Fellow actor Shaleen Malhotra, who has worked with Rai, commented that while he hasn't encountered major payment issues himself, occasional delays are not uncommon. Malhotra stressed the importance of timely payments for artists who dedicate long hours to their work, highlighting that such delays have become a pattern.

The discussion also touched upon the need for industry connections. Rai indicated that while they can be helpful to some extent, he has opted for a more challenging but earned path to success. He acknowledged that no one achieves success entirely alone, as collaborators always contribute value.
