Tusshar Kapoor: Single Dad by Choice, Not Chance

Actor Tusshar Kapoor, who welcomed his son Laksshya via surrogacy in 2016, has reflected on his journey into single fatherhood. Kapoor became one of Hindi cinema's first single fathers through IVF and surrogacy.

He revealed that while he respects marriage, it was never part of his personal life plan. Fatherhood, however, felt like the right path. Kapoor embraced this role at the age of 40, believing he had reached a mature stage in life.

Kapoor shared that becoming a single parent was less challenging than anticipated. He recounted a pivotal conversation with filmmaker Prakash Jha on a flight, which prompted him to seriously consider single parenthood. This led him to consult doctors and ultimately welcome his son.

He also discussed his approach to explaining their family structure to his son, emphasizing honesty and openness about different family dynamics. Kapoor's experience later inspired his book 'Bachelor Dad', and other industry figures have since embraced single parenthood.
