Summary
- Trump's 60 Minutes interview draws 14 million viewers, highest in 5 years
- Marjorie Taylor Greene criticizes GOP's "pissing contest" in D.C. on The View
- Paramount settles $16M lawsuit with Trump over Kamala Harris interview

In a surprising turn of events, former President Donald Trump's recent sit-down interview with 60 Minutes has drawn significant attention and controversy. The interview, which aired last Sunday, attracted a staggering 14 million viewers, marking the newsmagazine's highest audience in almost five years.
The heavily scrutinized interview was Trump's first appearance on the show since 2020. According to Nielsen data, the program not only drew 3 million viewers in the coveted 25-54 demographic, but it also emerged as the top non-sports program of the week. The network reported that the viewership was up 71% compared to last year and a remarkable 133% in the 25-54 demo.
While the interview lasted around 90 minutes, only 28 minutes were ultimately broadcast. This editing decision struck many as ironic, given that Trump had previously sued the network over the way it had spliced an interview with his 2024 campaign rival, Kamala Harris. Even though CBS lawyers had deemed the lawsuit baseless, Paramount Global ultimately settled the litigation for $16 million as it sought Trump administration approval for its acquisition by Skydance.
Amidst the ongoing political drama, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene also made headlines this week. During an appearance on ABC's "The View," she chided the Republican Party over the ongoing "pissing contest" between the party's leaders in Washington, D.C. Greene expressed her frustration with the infighting, signaling a growing divide within the GOP.
