Troye Sivan's latest track, "Party," incorporates a sample from Madonna's 2000 hit "Music." Sivan shared in a recent interview that the Queen of Pop was exceptionally accommodating, making the process of obtaining permission "super easy."
Madonna has been a significant influence on Sivan, with "Like a Prayer" being one of his earliest musical memories. The concept for "Party" emerged after Sivan watched a Lady Gaga interview, sparking thoughts about the exhilarating feeling of moving through a night without wanting it to end.
Sivan directed the music video for "Party" with Gordon von Steiner, exploring the deeper meaning of partying, especially within queer communities. He views it as an "act of resistance," recalling his first experience in a gay bar in Cape Town where he felt he wasn't the minority for the first time.
Sivan, 31, met Madonna, 68, in person for the first time at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27th. They presented the Best Dance award together. Sivan's fourth studio album, "She's the Best," is slated for release on October 9th.
