While investigating a murder connected to a series of crimes, Will delved into the perpetrators' mindset, inadvertently bringing back the spectral manifestation of serial killer James Ulster.

This 'mind ghost' taunted Will, suggesting he shared a darker nature. Will's attempt to stab the apparition with yard clippers resulted in a horrifying realization: he had harmed the victim, not the ghost. His foster brother, Paul Campano, eventually roused him from this disturbing hallucination.
