23 Jul
Summary
- Surgery is currently not an option for Tracy Shaw as tumors have not shrunk.
- Actress found new lumps which were thankfully identified as cysts.
- Shaw remains hopeful for future treatment success following chemotherapy.

Former Coronation Street actress Tracy Shaw has announced a challenging turn in her breast cancer treatment. Surgery is currently not feasible because the tumors in her left breast have not reduced in size.
Shaw, known for her role as Maxine Peacock, revealed this news in an emotional Instagram update. She had undergone ultrasounds to assess the tumors and check a new lump discovered in her right breast. Fortunately, the new lumps were found to be cysts, offering some relief.
Despite this positive aspect, the treatment's failure to shrink the primary tumors means surgery is postponed. Shaw expressed a degree of disappointment, stating the tumors have changed shape but not size. She remains hopeful that further chemotherapy rounds may yet prove successful.
The actress, who appeared on Coronation Street from 1995 to 2003, has been documenting her chemotherapy journey and its associated challenges on social media since announcing her diagnosis in April. She shared her update after leaving the hospital, acknowledging the support she has received from fans and fellow actors.
