Summary
- Velma and Bobby, two main characters, are leaving Tracker in season 3
- Showrunner hints at possibility of their return, but not in the first block
- Season 3 will focus on building out Reenie's office and bringing in a new character, Randy, to help her

As of September 27, 2025, the hit series Tracker, starring Justin Hartley, is set to undergo a significant cast change in its upcoming third season. Showrunner Elwood Reid has confirmed that two of the show's series regulars, Velma (Abby McEnany) and Bobby (Eric Graise), will no longer be part of the team.
In the first episode of season 3, which premieres on October 19, 2025, viewers will learn that Velma is leaving to be with Teddi (Robin Weigert), a character who exited the show after the first season. Meanwhile, Bobby has accepted an "interesting job offer," the details of which will also be revealed in the premiere.
While the showrunner has hinted at the possibility of Velma and Bobby's return, he has stated that it will not happen in the first block of episodes. Instead, the focus will shift to building out Reenie's (Fiona Rene) office, with the introduction of a new character, Randy (Chris Lee), who was a strong presence in the previous season.
Randy will be brought in to help Reenie, who is in a "pretty dark place" after the events of season 2, which included her boyfriend being shot and her company facing a security breach. He will be tasked with providing a "digital health check detox" for Reenie, which is expected to lead to a deeper relationship between the two characters.
The third season of Tracker is also set to explore the remaining members of Colter's (Justin Hartley) team more deeply, as the showrunner aims to delve into their personal lives and not just focus on the cases they solve each week.
