The "Toy Story" franchise, a groundbreaking cinematic achievement, continues its legacy with a fifth film slated for release in 2026. The original 1995 film, directed by John Lasseter and featuring music by Randy Newman, revolutionized the animation industry as the first entirely computer-animated feature. Its success paved the way for multiple sequels and spin-offs.
Each installment introduces new characters and adventures, deepening the beloved world. "Toy Story 2" arrived in 1999, bringing Jessie and Bullseye into the fold. "Toy Story 3" in 2010 saw Andy pass his toys to Bonnie, introducing characters like Trixie and Mr. Pricklepants.
Further acclaim came with "Toy Story 4" in 2019, which introduced Forky and also won the best animated feature Oscar, a feat "Toy Story 3" had previously achieved. A spin-off, "Lightyear," voiced by Chris Evans, explored the origins of Buzz Lightyear in 2022, demonstrating the franchise's expansive universe beyond the main films.
