Dalton: Sci-fi noir 'Sugar' changed my life

Dalton, who was previously aware of and admired the show, was pleasantly surprised to be offered the role of Detective Ray Vega for its second season. The series stars Colin Farrell as John Sugar, a private investigator grappling with missing-person cases in contemporary Los Angeles, while also secretly being an extraterrestrial.

In 'Sugar' Season 2, Dalton's character, Ray Vega, is part of a team of police officers described as morally corrupt. Vega initially believes he has everything under control, but his path crosses with John Sugar, leading to a profound and irreversible change in his life. Dalton finds the show's fusion of science fiction and noir genres particularly compelling, using it as a lens to explore the human condition and the inherent value of humanity.

Dalton also expressed his satisfaction in working again with writer-producer Sam Catlin, known for his work on 'Breaking Bad.' He highlighted Catlin's approach, which allows actors creative freedom and respects their craft.
